Hey - I’m Jake

Hi there, my name is Jake Band. I'm a watercolor artist based in Brooklyn, New York.

Creativity has always been at the heart of who I am, from doodling as a kid to building elaborate science fair projects and exploring the world through imaginative play. But it wasn’t until recently that I channeled this creativity into something more structured, something to share with the world. My art is a reflection of my journey, my passions, and my purpose: to celebrate the moments, memories, and connections that make life meaningful.

Through my work, I strive to capture the energy of everyday life, the wonder of exploration, and the bonds that tie us to each other and the places we call home. Whether it’s the bustling beauty of New York City, the quiet nostalgia of a beloved neighborhood, or the warmth of shared experiences with loved ones, my art tells stories that resonate deeply. Each painting is not just an image but a connection—to a memory, a relationship, or a community.

My background in philanthropy and nonprofit work has given me a profound appreciation for the power of connection. In that world, I connected people to causes, ideas, and each other, and I see my art as a continuation of that mission. Now, I use my creativity to connect individuals to their cherished moments and places while also uplifting the stories of communities and organizations working to preserve the spirit of those places.

At its core, my work is about building bridges—between people, between memories, and between communities. I believe art can inspire empathy, ignite curiosity, and foster meaningful dialogue. By highlighting the beauty of our shared experiences and the spaces we hold dear, my purpose is to create art that not only moves people but also makes a difference in the world around us.
